The Culture, Leisure, and Technology Administration is the municipality's third largest department. We have 180 employees with a broad area of responsibility including libraries, cultural schools, museums, public art, property and projects, streets and traffic, ports, parks and coasts, facilities and baths, open youth activities, support for associations, as well as consumer and budget advice.

The libraries in Falkenberg consist of the city library in Argus, four local libraries, and two library buses. Today, 25 people work in the library organization.

We are now looking for library assistants for hourly employment within the Libraries in Falkenberg. As an hourly employee, you are expected to work at several libraries, and the hours may vary depending on the needs of the operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position refers to hourly employment based on the needs of the operations year-round, where working hours will also be scheduled during the summer months to replace regular staff on vacation.

The tasks include, among other things:

• Assistance and guidance to library visitors at the library's information desks.
• Book shelving and other media management.
• Other tasks occurring in public libraries.

Work may be assigned to the City Library in Falkenberg, local libraries in Slöinge, Ätran, Vessigebro, Ullared, as well as on the library buses. You will, together with other colleagues, be the face of the library. It is therefore important that you have an inclusive and relationship-building approach.

Work may also occur during evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who at least holds a three-year high school education.

You have documented experience working in a public library, service work, or educational work.

To thrive with us, you are outgoing, social, flexible, and have the ability to create engagement and participation. It is important that you have an interest in reading books and a desire to share reading tips with our visitors of all ages.

Good IT skills are a necessity.

For the position, we see the following as meritorious:

• Ongoing or completed academic studies in library and information science or other academic education that the employer considers equivalent.
• Experience in library work.
• Language skills beyond English.
• Category B driving license.
• Category C driving license.
